Healthy Kids, Healthy Future

Launched August 1, 2018, the Healthy Kids Healthy Future Technical Assistance Program (HKHF TAP) is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and implemented by Nemours Children's Health System (Nemours). Under HKHF TAP, Nemours and CDC provides technical assistance (TA), tools/resources, and financial support to embed obesity prevention into state Early Care and Education (ECE) systems and/or support facilities level interventions aimed at improving ECE provider practices. ECE systems include professional development offerings for providers, technical assistance networks supporting quality improvement, recognition programs, and childcare licensing.

MCDPH Healthy Kids Healthy Futures

In 2018, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), along with partner MCD Public Health, launched a 5-year project entitled, Healthy Kids Healthy Futures Technical Assistance Program (HKHF TAP), to increase statewide capacity to implement evidence-based programming that promotes healthy choices for eating and activity in early care and education (ECE) sites in Maine. The HKHF 5-year workplan focuses on improving systems of delivery and increasing capacity within existing ECE technical assistance structures to provide support to ECE's in the improvement practices and standards of care, specific to healthy eating and active living.
