MCD Public Health is made up of highly qualified public health professionals and support staff who are passionate about our mission to improve the health and well-being of people.
MCD Public Health staff members come from a diversity of backgrounds and training, including public health, policy, management, administration, nursing, business, and communications. Project teams reflect multiple perspectives and layers of experience, and may include individuals with Ph.D., Master's, and undergraduate level education.
Our experienced trainers and consultants are available to provide customized assistance to meet client needs.
Our human resources management system is built on the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals developed by the Public Health Foundation Council on Linkages. This competency-based approach guides the way in which we staff all projects, while promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Leadership and Accountability
MCD Public Health staff report to a designated Team Leader. The Team Leaders are senior staff who are responsible for project management, including programmatic and staff activity as well as financial management, reporting, and supervision.
"It is so helpful, both to PHF and to the field, to have good examples that use the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals. We shared the job descriptions you provided with some HR specialists from a local health department. They very much appreciated the examples."
- Kathleen Amos, Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice, Public Health Foundation
